Affiliate Disclosure
Solar Powered Project is reader-supported. When you buy through links on our site, we may earn an affiliate commission at no extra cost to you. This never influences which products we recommend or how we test them.
How we make money
Affiliate commissions. Some links on this site are affiliate links, primarily to retailers like Amazon. If you click one of those links and make a purchase, we may receive a small commission from the retailer. The price you pay is exactly the same either way.
Display advertising. We also run display advertising (Google AdSense). Ads are clearly labeled and never disguised as content.
What this means for our recommendations
- We recommend what we would buy ourselves. Our guides are written from hands-on experience with off-grid systems, DIY builds, and component research — not from manufacturer press releases.
- Commission rates do not influence rankings. We frequently recommend cheap PWM charge controllers, generic LiFePO4 cells, and DIY options that earn us little or nothing, because for many setups they are genuinely the right call.
- We name downsides. Every product we cover has trade-offs, and our comparison tables and reviews state them explicitly.
Amazon Associates disclosure
Solar Powered Project is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com. As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases.
