Solar decisions are full of variables. We aim to show the assumptions behind an answer, explain what can change it, and link to sources where a claim needs support.
Calculations
Planning tools use stated assumptions and are intended to help readers ask better questions. Actual performance can change with location, weather, shading, system losses, equipment settings, installation quality, and how energy is used.
Costs and comparisons
Costs, incentives, and product specifications change. Cost and comparison pages should state their scope and review date. We do not treat a single estimate as a guaranteed price or outcome.
Sources and updates
For claims that materially affect safety, policy, cost, performance, or equipment choices, we aim to prioritize primary or authoritative sources such as manufacturer documentation, government agencies, utilities, standards bodies, and established research organizations. A publication or review date should never imply a claim was independently tested unless that testing is described.
