- 2026-09-06 — Images that did not show what their captions claimed. A technical audit comparing images against their alt text found three images on the solar battery cost guide whose descriptions were false: one workshop photograph was labeled as both a “cost decline chart” and a “components infographic” (the same file used twice), and another photo of two men at a workbench was labeled “professional electrician installing a wall-mounted solar battery.” The images were removed rather than re-captioned, because they did not support the surrounding content. The payback calculator’s hero image description (“timeline chart”) was corrected to describe the workspace photo it actually is, and eleven image references pointing to files that never existed were removed. Separately, ~50 broken internal links, 116 dead in-page anchors, and a mis-encoded FAQ structured-data layer were repaired.
- 2026-09-06 — Privacy page did not match reality. Google Analytics had been loading site-wide without being disclosed in the privacy policy (which covered only Rybbit), and the affiliate-disclosure page stated we “run display advertising (Google AdSense)” when no ads run. Fixed by removing Google Analytics entirely (Rybbit, which is cookieless, remains), rewriting the privacy policy to match actual practices, and correcting the disclosure page. If analytics are ever re-added, they will be disclosed here and on the privacy page first.
- 2026-09-06 — Site search was not functioning. /search.html rendered an empty article (the search template was never wired to the page), so the nav “Search” item led nowhere useful. The search page now renders the search interface and matches against titles, descriptions, keywords, and page body text.
- 2026-09-06 — MPPT price-band corrections (roundup, reviews, cost guide). The Victron SmartSolar 100/20 and 100/30 were described as sitting in the “$250–$600 mid-range” MPPT band. Street prices checked September 2026 (official EUR price list, an authorized distributor, and multiple US retailers) put them at ~$95–$125 and ~$110–$140 — squarely in the small class, whose floor was also corrected from $120 to $95. Verified editorial bands were added to the roundup and comparison tables.
- 2026-09-05 — Federal tax-credit status (multiple pages). Several cost and financing pages still described the 30% federal residential clean-energy credit as available in 2026 (“remains at 30% through 2032”). The credit expired December 31, 2025 under P.L. 119-21. Affected pages were corrected and savings/payback tables recomputed without the credit. If you spot a remaining stale claim, please report it.
- 2026-09-05 — Duplicate cost guides consolidated.
/guides/solar-battery-cost-2026/and/pages/solar-panel-cost-california.htmlduplicated near-identical pages elsewhere on the site and now point canonical URLs at the primary versions, so search engines consolidate to one copy. - 2026-09-05 — Rendering defects repaired. Broken table formatting, stray characters, and malformed headings introduced by a content-generation tool were fixed across roughly twenty pages, including comparison tables on the backup-vs-generator, financing, lease-vs-buy, and ground-mount pages.
